I'm trying to make a log scale chart with a min 20, max 120, major/minor units at 10. Got it to look exactly like I want until I add the log scale option, then the min/max goes 10 to 1000 and has one 100 tick. My data is ~30 to 101. Once the log scale is set excel won't let me change the min/max again.

Excel 2002... what am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Brian

You can set min and max, but only as 10^n, n - integer.

Glenn,

I'm sure you're right and this is unfortunately a lot of work for something that should/could be part of the software. This will be quite a pain for me as I'm looking to automate the entire process with dynamic data.

Oh well... it'll be going on my to-do list.

Cheers

Hi baltman,

yes, it is a lot of work for something that should be part of the application. I find a lot of things I want to do in charting has to be done by various bits of trickery rather than native functionality ... one of the downsides of Excel I'm afraid.

Useful charting sites ( for any other charting tips )...

Cheers, Glenn.

Great sites. I'd give you two stars if I could. Except now I have *more* work [wink]

Ha ha, yeah, that's the trouble with good sites. :-D

Cheers, Glenn.
