hi, i have a niu conected on a md bc10.
thing is , i log on with help, but when i get iopwp; it gives me another pw.
why is this? niu is not conected to disk, isnt in lim 1

ok, this is what happens (daddy is right as always )

ok, PRE-bc10,

to find out the passwords you do
IOPWP;

if you log on at level 7 it will show you ALL the level's from 7 down.

if you log on at 5, from 5 down.

now, BC10> the security has changed and has got better.
it does not use password only, it uses USER and PASSWORD

if you type IOUAP, you will see a list of users but no passwords, for example, you may see as a user, HELP or MDUSER or ENGINEER you'll see the level as well.

To set up a password you use the IOUAI command, so you can set for example, a level 5 user password as ENGINEER and GETLOST

so

USER: ENGINEER
PASSWORD: GETLOST

NOW...... if you forget the password, there is no command to find the password, like the old IOPWP command, this is to stop people hacking the passwords.

so your question..the IOPWP command is pretty much redundent, so ignore it.

EVEN if you have an IPU command, you still use the passwords setup in the IOUAI command.

maybe, i explain wrong last time.
thing is, i have two nius, one is conected to de hard disk.
and another in other magazine.
i conect ok with 7 class pass to the niu conected to the disk.
but when i conect to the other niu, i use help, not the 7 class 7 pass. and i get conected in 7 class.
but when i tipe iopwp, md gives me, the other one...
i only wanted to know how this ocurr. normaly pass, have changed and isnt help

you're not listening to use, forget about IOPWP.
NIU accounts are stored in IOUAP.

let me get this straight :

you are SURE you have NIU's??

so must give a USER name and a PASSWORD, is this the case??

Having both, NIU and IPU in a system, you have to set password with IOPWC(for IPU) and IOUAI(for NIU)

hi, i have ipu, and niu.
if i log on with, client psw, i log on with class 7. thats whith ipu.
if i go to niu and i put help, o log on in class 7 too.
if i type iopwp, when im conected to the niu. it gives me , ipu pass and no the niu one.

simple, you can't see NIU pass with command IOPWP.
you use command IOUAP to see NIU accounts (passwords are not shown)
