Log on OK then keyboard locks up?

On a network running server 2003 with XP Pro workstations, have three different logons two of the logons are OK.When I log on as a student everthing is OK get the corect desktop etc but on 3 or 4 workstations when I open up Word or any program the keyboard is locked and unable to type in information. If I log off and logon as another user I can type in the username and password and use Word or any other program OK.
Re-booting the PC still have the same problem when logging on as a student.
Any Ideas??
