I was trying to add our Konica copier to the network in order to use it as a scanner & printer. The scanning portion of the software required a network account so I created an Act Dir User for it called 'konica'. Even though all the settings within the scanning software were correct (login, password, domain, IPs, etc.) I couldn't get it to save scanned files to the network with the 'konica' user account UNTIL I logged in to a PC AS the user 'konica'. After that, everything transferred from the Konica to the network without a problem.

I had a similar scenario once before... but can't remember the details. The short of it was that I had to log in to a PC as the new user in order for the application to work with that user account.

I'm sure there's a explanation as to why this is - can someone clue me in!?

Thanks so much for your time!

hi,
when you login in the PC as Konica user,
from where (P1) do you transfer files ?
where you transfer files ?

Could Konica user belong to a group (KcnGrp),
and set permission in (P1) as KngGrp ReadOnly,
and some users belong to KngGrp ?

You can sometime login as Konica (which has full control in P1) user and purge obsolete files ?

bye

I never did anything with the 'konica' user account on the PC. I simply logged in and then immediately deleted the entire profile off the PC.

That action alone then allowed the Konica copier / scanner box to user the 'konica' user account to transfer files from the copier / scanner to the network.

There was never any issue with the permissions on the destination network folder.
