Hie to you all.

I have an Mxe that I am failing to log on to. It says the password or username is wrong or caps lock is on.
I can connect via the serial port but now need to reset the Mxe back to its factory setting thus deleting current database, also username and password.

Please help me with the syntax to achieve this.

Thank you

Actually the best way to go back to a fresh start is doing a software upgrade. That wipes everything. A DBMS flag off and reboot still leaves some programing behind.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

I appreciate the upgrading method but at the moment I don't wish to upgrade. Any advise on which command syntax to use.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Thank you for the tip but I still need to know how to do the DBMS flag off and reboot from the serial port.
Will definitely do a full software install but need to know an alternate way (serial commands) for cases were half a loaf is better than none ( leaving out some programming as opposed to wiping them out fully)
Then again why a full install just for a lost password. The below commands have been suggested in other posts but do not seem to work:-
cd "/db/ .....
remove " usrprf....
RESET_ALL_USER_PASSWORDS
reboot

Note:I know the correct syntax for the above but thought not to show them complete to save myself some typing.

Thank you for your input. The last method at the bottom of the post is not working. I will be very happy if someone could tell me HOW TO DO A DBMS FLAG OFF via serial, the intention being to default system to factory database.
Please respond along this challenge.

Thank you.

Just checked the shel and there does not appear to be a DBMS command...did a lkup "DBMS" and it returned nothing.

Need the GUI for DBMS Flagg off. So you need to reset the password first so you can log in.
