Is it possible to auto archive logfiles from firewall, i would like to zip them up and then move them to a different server, only that the firewall is not part of the domain.

Would it be possible for firewall to start a new log for each new day, and then i could do a script to zip the files up.

Thanks Regards

The facility to do this already exists in Firewall-1 NG. You double click the module object and under logging/additional logging, you can set when you want your module to perform a logswitch.

For Firewall-1 4.1, you have to use NT's AT command, or Unix CRONTAB to schedule the logswitch manually. The firewall-1 command is 'fw logswitch' and there's a number of parameters you can specify which determines the naming convention.

You can find more info on this at and
Hope this helps.
