I am using BackupExec ver. 11d and am doing disk to disk backups every night. I notice that inside of most of the directories that are created, there are .log files created, each of which is 5,120 kb in size. These log files are named automatically, for example E000DAA.log, and then sequentially after that. My question is whether these are truely log files that can be deleted at my discretion or are they files that contain useful information that should be saved.

I think these are log files for your exchange server database so you'll probably want to keep them.

Thats the GRT information for Exchange Backups. When you use GRT option it basically copies over the exchange logs and priv edb to your media server. Basically when you restore it mounts the exchange database on media server thru that IMG folder and lets you extract what ever you want to restore from exchange.
