1 LIM system BC11, reload from flash disk fails
LOG display shows 2800
It means that there is no NIU2 board found.
I switch off the power, than I switch it on. System counts 9064, 3100, 3110, 2800. I switch the power off and on again...I do it many times without success..Than suddenly NIU2 starts working, and I have 104 at the end, and PBX works OK.
I have also seen this strange behaviour before, it was NIU and SCSI disk.
Alex says that if there is 2800 on LOG display, than NIU, LSU, DSU should be checked.
Did anyone have this problem, and how did you solve this?
Should I concentrate on LSU/DSU or change/upgrade NIU2?

The Curious

Hi,

Most probably it is an LSU problem.

BR///

YOu can try doing fuction test on the LSU/DSU's using

LSFTI:LIM=1,FULL=YES;

It's not a definitive test and it can be traffic disturbing. You could also try removing and replacing the NIU card. Check all the cables are correct also, and maybe remove and replace the LSU card.

Good luck

Hi people,

I have already tried with LSFTI, but results were OK.
System shows strange behaviour, for example BLFDP says that ELU29 in 1-0-30 is " faulty board", and when I move the same board to 1-0-40 it works OK.
ALLOP says that TMU is faulty, FTTDI says that board is faulty, FTMDI says faulty board, there is no dial tone in the system... But when I move TMU from 1-0-10 to 1-0-20, all alarms dissapear, and TMU works excellent.
Sometimes DUSYI to flash disk does not work, because of " buffer transfer error".
My conclusion is that LSU or DSU must be faulty. Why LSFTI did not find anything?

On the other hand, I took the NIU2 with me and tested it a little bit in the lab. In the lab I also had several 2800 states before disk started the normal reload.

Could be that both NIU2 and LSU are faulty. (?!)

The Curious

which firmware do you have on the NIU2 and what brand of flashdisk are you using?

I think it's the DSU or a faulty backplane. The surefire way to test the DSU is to swap it with the DSU in another magazine and see if the fault follows it.

Toshiba flashdisks NEED at least firmware revision R8A, but it is better to update to R9A.

Sandisk flashdisk will give no problem in R5A
