LOCKS in teradata

If two queries running against one table, one is inserts and another one updates. The tables keep locking and says there is a deadlock. How can we check this in teradata.

I cannot use multitool, is that any other option.

What kind of queries?
Inserts: Single row inserts or an insert/select?
Updates: One update or multiple updates?

Could you post the queries?

Teradata session or ANSI session?

Implizit Transactions or Begin Transaction/End Transaction?
