Is there a way i can lock certain tables and queries in MS access without using any VB CODE? I currently have the database password protected when your first try to get in.

Users shouldn't see the database objects anyway, except for forms. Have you looked at Tools - Startup? There you can hide the database window and designate a form to open up on. Also, there is the .mdw file for security. You may want to call up the Help pane and search on "security". Or look in a book. You can put user-level permissions on objects.

Fneily,

As of now , the database objects arent visible and only the initial form is visible. However , i would like the users to access one table for modification from time to time but wouldnt want them to modify other tables or queries. Is there a way i can select tables and queries which i would like to lock?

Thanks in advance.

For some reason i am not seeing a function for opening a table using a command button in a form. They only have

Record Navigation
Record Operation
Form Operation
Report Operation
Applications
Miscellaneous

ANy ideas?
