HI All,

Using Approach Millennium:

I have a database for users to access item inforamtion, however I don't want them to modify that information by mistake. There are 2 fields, however, that I do want them to be able to modify. How do I protect the rest of the fields. If I make the database read only then as the Designer I can't add/modify any of the fields.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanking you in advance,
Linda

The only way that I know is with LotusScript code. Of course the user could still delete the record or add records.

In a form's LotusScript, you would have to get their username, and then it would make the other fields grey or make the fields visible property to be false and true on the other two.

Hi khobson,

Actually what I did is password protect the Main DB and created another DB that I gave them access to that had the fields they could modify. They can't delete the record because they don't have access to the main DB.

Thanks for your reply though,

Linda
