Dear Expert,

The situation that i'm facing is :

The client site (branch) is using VB / Lotus notes to access the microsoft access database (HQ)

1) how can i access MDB server, by online.

2) let say there is 2 user using the same screen and the screen will generate a unique number. how can i do something like locking one of the person when someone is generating the number.
Is the any setting control in the microsoft access?

Thanks for help
Regards

Eric

This is what I did when I was beginning programming Access - I put a second empty database in the directory and whoever wanted to add/delete an order record has to first have an exclusive lock on that second database file.

It's basic and easy to implement - and now I can coordinate locking a lot better, but still use that old way simply because for me, if it works, don't go messing with it.
