I want to be able to execute code and LOCK an NT4 workstation like the LockWorkStation command for Win2k. Is there a function call to make this happen or do you have to fake key strokes to the system?

Thanks

ahhchu,

Not directly, no. LockWorkstation was (officially) added to the API in Windows 2000.

However, you can fake it (sort of) if you're willing to mandate some requirements on screen savers. The basic technique is available from Microsoft's site. To review it, go to and then search for "Q262646" (which is the ID of the document in question). You'll be interested in the latter half of the document.

Hope this helps...
