I need to lock IE 5 on our systems. What I'd like is to force the users into fullscreen mode, but all they have to do is click on the restore button, and it brings IE back to a window w/ all the menus, and toolbars. I've made all the registry changes suggested on the web, and the ones found in the IEAK. The 3 that I cannot get to work are NoAdressBar, NoLinksBar, and NoMenuHelp. Sitting down at the PC and manually making the changes is not an option because of location. Our systems are running NT4 SP6a, and IE 5. I talked to MS and they said there was no way to disable the restore button. Am I S.O.L.?

dwhitlow,

For those to work properly, they all haver to be enabled:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbars\Restrictions
NoAddressBar=dword:00000001 ;hides the Address bar...requires NoToolbarOptions to be effective.
NoToolBar=dword:00000001 ;hides the Standard buttons...requires NoToolbarOptions to be effective.
NoLinksBar=dword:00000001 ;hides the Links bar...requires NoToolbarOptions to be effective.
NoToolbarOptions=dword:00000001 ;prevents enabling the above by the user by right-clicking or from the View menu.

Have you tried kiosk mode? Create or modify the IE shortcut to read:

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE "-k
