Is there a way to allow certain extension to only have the ability to dial 2 pre-determined extensions? I have several phones that are presently configured to dial the operator once they are off hook. Although I am interested in removing that feature and returning them to 'normal operation' allowing the caller to use them in a traditional sense and profile these extensions to 1) dial 0 for the operator OR 2) a specific extension and nothing more. Is this an option? If so, can someone point me in the direction (manual / pages) to where I can read up on this?

Thanks,
Chris

Extensions can be restricted from dialing out and/or taking incoming calls. I don't know if you can restrict extensions from calling other inside extensions or the operator other than using the hotline feature.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

This is a major work around, but this is the best I can come up with for you. Loop around an analog extension to a trunk port. Then remove all the SA buttons from the phone except for one. Assign the trunk port to the phone. Set the Auto line selection to point to the trunk you assigned to the phone. Using restrictions and allowed/disallowed lists, you can control what they can and can not dial. If the phone is an analog phone already, then you are all set. If this phone is some sort of digital phone, then open the phone, and place a piece of black electrical tape on the membrane where the button is for the SA button assigned to the phone. This way they will have no choice but to use the trunk port to make any calls. renumber the actual phone to be some sort of number out of the dial plan...such as 71xx. Renumber the analog extension you looped around to a trunk port to be the actual extension number. This is a major work around and probably not work perfectly.

or should I say MacGuyver that is quite the tricky thing you came up with, respect I like especially the tape thing, LOL.
