Locking a Form Field on Exit

Hello,

I have an authorization form. I want to insert my signature into one of the fields. I think I have answered for myself that MS Access security is weak at best, and can not be set down to the field level (if this is not true, please advise).

Is there a way to set a procedure to occur "On Exit" or "After Update" that would lock the field?

I'm no expert programmer, but I do know that you can use the following to 'lock' fields after updating a record. Simply insert into the 'after_update' event for the form.

Me.(yourfieldname).locked = true
or
Me.(yourfieldname).enabled = false
