We are experiencing this problem quite frequently.
System overview:
3 x Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition servers running Citrix XenApp 4.5
A user's session will freeze for no apparent reason and they will have to power down and login again. If they login to the same server it will attempt to put them in the same session, leading to nothing happening (just sat at bluescreen waiting to login).
We have UPHClean in use and according to the logs it failed to close a few handles but then after a few minutes shows a successful message indicating it's successfully free'd the profile. It hadn't as the profile is still locked.
Any files which the user had open are now completely locked by that server (requiring a reboot, which isnt exactly easy on a live server) and you cannot open Task Manager or run Process Explorer to try and free the files - they execute but do not get as far as showing a GUI.
I have done some searching but found little useful information as it's quite a difficult one to search for - I am hoping someone has come across this issue before as restarting the server is not really an option.
Thanks in advance, Daniel.
