Locked row for excel spreadsheet 1

Hello,

I have just started trying to design my own tracking sheet and need to have a page where you can enter many rows (meetings) and have a locked row that will show the accumulation of meetings during given hours. That row I would like to have locked while the meetings can be continuously entered. This will allow for me to monitor the number of calls being set up for any given day.

Hi,

In the row enter a formula(s) to show the statistics.

select ALL CELLS

right click and select Format Cells

Select the Protection Tab and UNCHECK Locked

select the entire statistics row

right click and select Format Cells

Select the Protection Tab and CHECK Locked

Tools/Protection/Protect Sheet - protect the sheet with or without a password :)

Here's a tip ...
put your statistics row in row 1 ( at the top of the sheet ), and then select cell A2 and do menu command Window/Freeze Panes, and the statistics will stay in view all the time when you are scrolling.

There are 2 ways to lock rows in Excel - "Split" panes or "Freeze" them. Either one will work fine if your locked row is at the top of the page. click in the cell to just under where you want to place the "lock" and use the Window menu bar to choose your option.

Split is more "live" - it actually divides the sheet into separate modifiable areas, horizontally & vertically. You can scroll in different directions in any of the panes.

Lock divides the sheets as well, but you only move about in the area you see. If you try to go beyond the area, your cursor will jump into the next pane. If the sheet will be used by any "new" users, I'd recommend Lock, since users are less likely to get "lost" in the spreadsheet.
