Hello Everyone

I hope everybody is having a good year - I know I would if I could figure out why this is happening.

I just installed a new 2008 Server and made it a Primary Domain Controller (it is the Global). It is the only server in the domain.

What I would like to do is change the password policies for users - but when I go to the policies they have a lock on them and are greyed out so I cannot change them. I am using the administrator account and I am trying to do this on the server. How can I unlock the system?

Never had this happen in 2003

thanks

bob

Are you using the 'Group Policy Management Console' to configure the policy? The issue you described sounds like when someone is trying to configure the local policy on the DC rather than a domain policy. If you do not have the 'GPMC' installed on the server, have a look at the following link for information to get you up and running.

- Install the GPMC
