Locked from synchronizing

I have several people using a replicated backend on their laptops. If they happen to want to synchronize at the same time with the network master,the 2nd person receives a locked notice. Is there a way to see that the master is busy so as to notify the user after ther click on the synch button?

You could check for the existence of an .ldb (locking info for that DB) file in the folder where the master .mdb resides...
