We have just installed Mandrake 8 and we can't access the CDROM. When we went into file manager, it shows both the floppy and CDROM locked... even if we logged in as ROOT!!!!

Any ideas how to 'unlock' these two devices???

Rule 1: Don't sweat the small stuff.
Rule 2: EVERYTHING is small stuff!! X-)

I have heard of this on other forums. Check the settings in /etc/fstab and make sure these devices are not automounting. Try disabling samba then reboot and see if your devices are unlocked. In the other forums, no one posted a resolution to this problem, but it was temporary resolved by a reboot.
