1. logged in as the admin
2. hit mailbox
3. hit change
4. entered the correct # for the mailbox
5. hit password reset

it is supposed to reset to 0000, but it doesn't. does anyone know what i am doing that is wrong?

thanks

If this is a Call Pilot on a PBX, reset password goes to the "default" password which would be the password prefix + the mailbox number.

And that default prefix is 12 (e.g., mailbox 2000 would have a default password of 122000). The prefix can be changed, you might need to check it under Messaging - Security Administration.

If you are connected to a Norstar system (CICS or MICS), press F985, 9, and spell out "resetsmpswd" on the keypad from a digital extension (M7310, M7324, or T7316).
The password will reset to 0000.
