Lockdown XP Pro

hi,

not enough hours in the day for me to research this yet hoping u can help. too many people logging onto my PC - XP Pro, doing all sorts of things.

how do i lockdown the pc ie.

prevent/restrict pple from saving jpegs and all sorts off the net, for example, to the pc (especially in these days off internet viruses)(i have an antivirus and firewall installed)

restrict what apps they can run etc

restrict them changing the desktop background

they are not 'administrators' so they already have basic limitations.

any help will be appreciated

Are these people who also use the computer and have accounts setup on the computer just for them? or just people using it that have no business on this particular computer?

Some of what you want done can be accomplished under XP Pro through Group Policy.

You can even use the "Everyone but the Administrator" trick to have the settings apply only to those users:
