Hey all. I've searched and read the archives of this forum for about an hour now and tried a lot of good tips, but I can't find an answer.

My LDB file won't delete. I'm using the LDB Viewer and it shows that I am in the DB but I'm not. I've copied the DB to another location and successfully compacted and repaired and then copied back over the top of the exisiting DB. I've imported all the tables into a new DB and all seems ok. but I can't delete the old db or the old lock file. Short of rebooting the server (IT will have duck fit if I ask for that) is there anything else I can try???

I got a server admin to delete the lock file for me. Now I can get into the DB exclusively but when I try to compact and repair it says the DB is in use.

I have also tryied the jet compact utiltiy from MS and get and error while compacting. Any ideas? I've also imported everything into a new Access DB but I can't delete the old one.

I've gone into the Administration Tools|Computer Management|Shared Folders|Open Files and been able to delete it from there, assuming the user/mdb that has/had it open is a network client.

I either don't have access to that or I'm not smart enough to figure it out jsteph.

I've got it fixed. I had to have one of the server admins help me.
