I have loads of HP4250TN printers and users keep messing with the settings, I use jetadmin to manage them all but I would like to be able to lock the control panels on the printers, can't seem todo this through jet admin nor can I find the setting on the printer itself.

Any help?

Option 1: Break the user's fingers, and tell him/her to stop messing with things.

Option 2: Disconnect the ribbon cable to the control panel inside the printer. :) This won't allow people to press the "go" button tho.

Did you set an admin password in JetDirect?

Just my 2¢

You should be able to set the control panel security through the jetadmin, I can't remember the exact way to do it as we recently removed jetadmin as it kept on hanging and taking up a load of cpu on the server.

From memory there are three levels and the highest blocks any access to the control panel (puts an image of a lock next to each menu item).
