I need to lock certain columns and cells in a worksheet, however, I also want other columns cells to be available for data input (to place number of orders per item) how do I lock specific cells?

Kathryn,

It's not a case of locking, more unlocking.

Select the cells or range of cells you want to allow data input.

Select Format > Cells > Protection and take the tick out of the 'Locked' checkbox.

Select Tools > Protection > Protect Sheet.

Now the cells that you selected will allow input, but the others will not.

Hope this helps.
