Location of saved emails?

Having troubles with my computer. I might have to format it. Can anyone tell me where my old emails are saved. I am using Outlook 2000. I would like to save my old emails before formatting.

hi not sure where they are located on Win9x machine but on 2k/XP they are located here
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

there is 2 files located in the Outlook folder
extend.dat not sure what that is
Outlook.pst which will hold all your emails from Outlook + contacts

If your worried about it just back up your whole outlook folder you can't go wrong doing that.
