location of messages in exchange client

does anyone know where the messages, personal folders etc are stored, is it on the client machine or the server, and is there a way of changing the location where they are stored?

In Exchange client they are stored on the server in the private information store.

This is the fundamental underpining of Exchange server in that it is a server!

Personal folders are stored wherever you set them up but are only available when the client is running and defeat the object of the server.
