Location of fax files on SBS 2003

Hi all,

I have installed SBS 2003 on new hardware and need to move all files from an old SBS 2003 server for the customer. I am having trouble location the Fax images/files. I can launch the Fax Console on the old server desktop but cannot find an export or store location for the source of what it is displaying. The old server is also SBS 2003.

The old server was setup poorly and I am working to create a more organized network and server environment for the small office. I have looked in the Server Manager under Fax (Local) and cannot find the location of the stored faxes.

The clients workstation are setup to launch a shortcut to the server shared fax which gives the same fax views as the server Fax Console. Is this the best way or the correct method?

Why don't you just do a search on the server for "*.tiff"? They'll be where you find them.

There is no default location. If you drill down in the console into Devices and Providers -> Devices - > [modem name] -> Incoming, you've have the option to look at "Store in a folder". If that method is enabled, then you'll be able to get properties on that and see the path. If it's not enabled...then I don't think the server is saving faxes on the server. There's no "fax database", so if they are on the server, they will be .tiff files.

Thanks for the tip. I found them in the All Users folder and was able to transfer them with no problems. I had to search for "tif' with one 'f' but found what I was looking for!
