Hi, I really hope you guys can help me up with this. I just upgraded from 5.2 pervasive to 5.3 mssql, so far , so good, except for some issues. the one i need help with today is with the location screen on Inventory control module.

For some reason when i tried to navigate from one record to another it takes several minutes to perform the task. also when adding or editing a location. now, this did not happen before, only after we upgraded to 5.3

I tried installing SP1, SP2 and SP3 of IC but no success.

TIA

That I don't know. It was a customer request. Now I am facing that problem. it should be simple enough, it is just a table, but for some reason when i click the NEXT button or the Prev button, it takes a while to refresh the info

any thoughts?

there are over 30,000 locations and over 33,000 items

sorry , error

almost 5000 location
over 30,000 Item + location
over 33,000 items

Well there's your answer. There problem relates more to the number of locations. How did you get to so many locations?

I suspect you are using IC locations for bins, bad idea.
You can try reindexing the ICILOC table and see if that speeds things up.

just to understand, what exactly happens when editing a location or addin a new one? does 5000 location could cause slowliness on the manteinance?

Only the programmers know what really happens, but you can take a peek at RVSpy and DBSpy to get some insight FWIW.
If have never come across so many locations in the 15+ years I have worked with Accpac, I don't know if it will cause a speed issue, but my best guess is that it is the most likely cause.
