I have a Crystal report that is based on data stored in an Access Database. I recently upgraded to Access 2000 from 97 and I also moved the location of the Access database from my C dive to my D drive. When I try to change the location in crystal to look for the database I get all the way to the access file but before I can open that and specify which table to use it asks for a user and password under the header "Microsoft Access Open Session". The default user is "Admin". How do I skip this or set a password so that I can link the table to my crystal report?

Does that version of Crystal Reports support Access 2000 database's?????

they are different you know....

Also anything you can do in Crystal you can do in Access and stay in one program.

I am having the same problem but I did not move anything. I have a report written in Crystal Report 7.0 and all of a sudden a few weeks ago I would get the "Mirosoft Access Open Session" message and admin login. I need to use Crystal Reports because the reports I use need to get information from an access database as well as another database. Any ideas on how to fix this problem or work around it?

I understand your desire to stay in Crystal, just wanted to let you know that any database Crystal can talk to, Access can talk to as well. Crystal uses ODBC to attach to all data sources and Access can attach to any ODBC data source as well. Joe Miller

Access will not accept this database unless someone can tell me what I am doing wrong. Besides the report has 1 field from the access database and 162 from the other database so it seem like a pain to have to do all that for 1 field. Since the problem Ihave been going in and typing the field by hand but I would like a fix.

To be more specific...The database is from a leasing application program called LeasePlus. I am not sure what format it is in but the data file end in a .btr extention which is not one I know. I do know that we have to purchase a Data Dictonary to allow this database to speak to Crystal Reports and I an not sure how or if that makes a difference with Access.
I am using Crystal Reports to import information from that database as well as System1 datatbase (another leasing program) to a third database. System1 and the thrid database are both Access databases. I would love to link that LeasePlus database and the third one so that I did not have to import and update information all of the time but I have not been able to find a way to do it. Usually when I try to link the computer locks up while it is searching and not knowing what type of database it is does not help. Any thoughts....

Access Open Session Prompt (16 bit version)
This window can be displayed when printing a report. If another Access database application has been installed, and it uses Access security, a password may have to be entered if an Admin password has been assigned by the other application. When the correct password is entered, the report will print. If the Admin password is not known, the prompt can be bypassed by editing C:/WINDOWS/VB.INI and commenting out the SystemDB line in the [Options] section. Place a semi colon (;) at the start of the line to comment it out. Restart Kwik-Pay and the report will be produced.
In some cases if you click cancel, the report will be produced. Otherwise you will get an error message '20535: Unable to connect; incorrect session parameters', and will be left with a blank report window. This can also ber caused by the VB4 professional version of Crystal Reports' CRPE.DLL. If this replaced by the CRPE.DLL from disk 1 of the Kwik-Pay install disks, the reports should print OK

But if it does not clear the problem, in windows\system, rename PDBDAO.DLL, PDCTDAO.DLL and PDIRDAO.DLL to some other extension (say .DL2). After Kwik-Pay has restarted and printed a report OK, you should find that the files can be renamed back to their original .DLL extensions.
