Locating the users %TEMP% variable

I want to be able to find out what a users temp directory is so that I can populate batch and parameter files there and then run the batch file to start another application.

I am happy with sending output to these files and running the batch file, but I can't work out how to populate a variable with the users TEMP directory - it is the one that is returned when you run "set temp" on a command line.

And what about Environ("TEMP") ?
