Wow, Sprint actually said they would charge to ID the lines? Those guys are a challenge.
I've fought it with the many times. My favorite was a call to them asking for the binding post for a simple modem line that they delivered and didn't tag. I was informed that they could not give out that information, it was confidential. I politely asked for the supervisor. She came on and explained they couldn't give out company information like that. So, I thanked her and said 'you might want to start a trouble ticket, here is how i'm going to find my dial tone. I'm going to call it from another number, and short every pair in this 50 pair interface one at a time until the ringing stops when i find my pair. Of course, the three T1's in here that go to the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Employment office, and the College will go down if i short them, but I'll go inside and explain why i have to do this." She put me on hold for 10 seconds, and came back with the binding post number.
