Recently I've noticed Localhost being connect to Localhost on strange ports 1 digit apart.

XP console netstat segment:

Active Connections

Proto Local Address Foreign Address State
TCP Athlon:4564 localhost:4565 ESTABLISHED
TCP Athlon:4565 localhost:4564 ESTABLISHED

This seems odd to me... It just started happening recently and it seems to stay connected even on a fresh bootup. I use Mozilla Firefox for my internet surfing, have anti-virus software and I run Ad-aware regularly so I've kind of ruled out ad/spyware.. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks

These appear to me as pretty normal Netbios announcements. I do not see a virus or other malware issue.

Active Connections

Proto Local Address Foreign Address State PID
TCP Athlon:1906 localhost:1907 ESTABLISHED 2840
TCP Athlon:1907 localhost:1906 ESTABLISHED 2840

Image Name PID Session Name Session# Mem Usage
========================= ====== ================ ======== ============
firefox.exe 2840 Console 0 25,300 K

It appears to be Firefox.... The ports are never the same... They always change.. I guess this is normal? Thanks for all your help.
