I just started to configure an new win2k3 sever into our existing domain. I can log on as the administrator but when I try to log on as the user name and password which will be used to work with this machine I get "the local policy of this system does not permit you to logon interactively" The server is in the domain but does not have a role yet. This server is to be used as a web server for our primary data application.

Anyone have any ideas?

All you need to do is open up the local policy and add the user account into the policy to allow logon locally and also access this computer from the network.

I hope you find this post helpful.

The add user or group button is greyed out, and the only group that appears is the administrators.

Any Ideas?

If you can not change it then either you don't have rights OR the setting is being overwritten by a network policy.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

That's what it was the user did not have the correct rights.

Thanks Mark.
