If I log onto a Solaris box, how do I tell the difference between local or san attached storage? I would like to know which filesystems are local and which are SAN. This way I can move some important directories to SAN. Thanks

Are you using any logical volume manager (Veritas Volume Manager, Solaris Disk Suite) or multiple path management software (Veritas DMP, EMC PowerPath)? If so you may be able to obtain the information from them.

Otherwise it'll be a matter of mapping controller numbers to controller types, then you'll know that any disks belonging to your SAN HBAs will be the SAN disks.
