Hello.

Got a strange issue going on with one of my workstations. The workstation is a brand new Win2k Pro build. We unboxed it today and slapped the OS onto it (we don't use any imaging software or anything...small outfit...doing it the hard way). Any-hoo...when it came time to put our apps on it, we noticed that we're able to map certain drives, access certain files on servers within the domain. However, this machine has not yet been joined to the AD. We confirmed that it was logged in with the local administrator account. The only thing I can think of is that our back-door admin local admin account/pw is the same as our Builtin\Administrator account in our network. Is it possible this is somehow allowing us to navigate the network?

Thanks for any info.

If the username/password matches a username/password on the domain controller, then yes it will work fine. This is by design.
