We are using exchange 2003 with smart hosts enabled. We are having a problem with some mail servers not accepting our email because they are looking at the header file and seeing that the mail is coming from servername.domain.local. Of course that isn't the FQDN. How do I change that in exchange 2003 or do I have to change the computer name. I don't want to have to change the computer name.

You can use domain name masqerading.

To do this go to Exchange system mananger and then servers then protocols and then smtp virtual server go properties on thus and under here go to the delverey tab and then advanced. Put a name for the masqeruade

Regards

Simon
