I've recently had to reformat a company laptop that used to have an offline copy of MAS 90 residing on the desktop. It was basically a "snapshot" of inventory data, such as stock quantities and pricing. The data was only as up to date as the time the copy was created and viewing this information looked the same as if I were accessing the MAS 90 program on the server normally. I have searched for anything related to this on the web, in the Sage Knowledgebase, and in the various manuals, but I can't seem to find any information about how to recreate this. Is anyone familiar with this procedure and how I may be able to recreate this offline version independent from the real one? Any information would be of great help.

Make a complete copy of the "mas90" directory on the server onto the laptop and run workstation setup.

Thanks for the post dfeller, this will definately resolve my query.

However, I would note that this was not the way it was previously created on the laptop - there wasn't a password prompt when launching the client and there wasn't as much functionality/information available to the user (i.e. myself). Again, it was more of a "snapshot" of the information at the time of creation. I am curious if there is another way to create the offline client that someone else may be aware of...

There are a couple of things you can do. If this is meant to be a "non-working" install of MAS, that is no ongoing transaction entry then I would just install MAS90 on the laptop as a new install. Create the same company code. Then copy over and over-write with the live company data. Then just copy over the IM1, IM2 and IM3 as often as you need to keep the data fresh. Another method is to create an Access database and just import the IM1 and IM2. You could create a couple of forms to display the data if you want to look at it in other than normal table view.

Now if all you want to do is look at quantities then you could also just pull into Excel.

Thanks for the additional information BigLouie. Overwriting the neccessary files for updating fresh inventory data will save me some time. I appreciate everyone's help.
