Hi I wonder if anyone knows if its possible to connect two ISDN routers back to back for local testing. I have a requirement to test some complicated NAT setups and would like to config a local LAB to verify the routers before shipping. Now on frame relay type devices its easy to obtain a cross over cable and set the baud rate, but can the same be done on the ISDN router ie use a cross over cable and tell the router not to try dialing just assume the connection is already present ( ie just perform CHAPS ). Any ideas appreciated.

Regards

Peter

You need an ISDN simulator that does BRI and/or PRI switching. An ISDN switch could also work.

The only other option is is the routers are S interface you can plug them both into the same NT1. Put only one spid in each router and you'll be able place a call from B1 on tghe one device to B2 on the other device (now you know why NT1's were intended to be external).

Good for basic trsting at 64 kbps but will not allow you to test 128 connections and the realted protocol issues required to do 128.
