I just finished a CR related project utilizing a field in a SQL database table to define the source location of the built Crystal Report(.rpt file). When I put the SQL server's name in that field, it worked. When I put C:\Winnt\... , it also worked. When I put my local computer's name (i.e. \\DFW..\Winnt\..., it didn't work. In the last case, a message box appears with something like ???¦?? as if Crystal Reports could not begin to run due to confusion of some sort. My ? Is there some problem utilizing a local computer name in the name of the CR? My environment is NT4, SQL7, VB6, and CR8. I do have a workaround using the C:\ designation for local report testing, but my boss and I are stumped as to why the workstation name doesn't appear to work here. Thanks.
- Tom
