do asp.net date functions take time of the web server? How would I get the time from users machine? So I can say Good Morning, afternooon, etc?

DUH! I should have realized that... thanks!

one little quirk... I only say good morning/afternoon, etc if they have a current session going (ie are logged in), any good tricks to get javascript to see asp.net session variables?

Easy,

just print the javascript to the browser if the session variable satisfies your test!

James.
