dear all,

hotel environment, rooms are controlled via CA-48 with call restriction button set to local calls only, but is blocking '0' so guests could not dial '0' and get to an operator for calling card calls etc....if i turned restriction off it works....tried to put '0' in the allow list and '011'in the disallow list to prevent international calls, the dial '0' works but seems like the allow list overrides disallow list did in fact kicked in....so guests would be able to dial '011' for international calls.....need to have local calls only 100% of all times and dial '0' to work any ideas?

thanks in advance....

Rather than using a "Call Restrict" button to toggle the phone status, just build restrict and allow tables.

Disallow Table 1, Entry 1, Wild (Hold)

Allow Tables contain all local prefixes, all toll free area codes (including the "1", i.e. 1800, 1888, 1877, 1866), and then should contain 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 017, 018, and 019. This allows the room to dial 0 for an operator, or complete the call by dialing 0-1-(area code)-tel number and then waiting for billing options. (Area codes START with a 2 through 9, never 0 or 1).

Now, do you have "screened" lines, or a long distance provider that knows that the call is coming from a hotel and won't allow bill back to the room or someone saying "I'm having trouble dialing, would you complete this call for me...."?

Hi gregthesupertech,
And there's the rub that TTT pointed out. You may as well allow international and long distance if you allow "0". Better yet, why not have the guest call the office for that and transfer the call to the guest when connected. You might want to block 411 while you are at it.

thanks guys for the valuable input.....so much the partner can do but if that's what the customer wants then i could care less.....they have a call accounting software at the check out desk anyways to charge any chargable calls to the guest so i am not too worry about the '0'.....

STAR.....STAR FOR THE COMMENTS =)
