my clients have at least two accounts in their outlook clients. one for the localexchange and the other for the internet email hosted outside. the problem is, their default sending account is the localexchange and when they send out and email to an external address, an NDR bounces back that it cannot be delivered.

how can i configure exchange to send outside any email address not existing in the local site.

thanks in advance.

You can do what everyone else here does. Search this site and find the answer. It's been discussed many times.

An easier solution would be just use one account. What's the reasoning behind having two? Why not properly configure one account to have the correct configuration?

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

i'm a newbie at exchange so i really do not know what to search for. i've tried already but all seems not to match my set up.

what do you mean set up one account? i have no control on the pop3 server. it is hosted outside. i usually configure one exchange account (local) and one POP3 (internet) account. how do i set up exchange to know both and send to external email if the email address in the SENT box is not available in the local domain?

thanks!
