Hello everyone.
Here's my issue.
I have a Win2K Pro loptop that I use at work to connect to the LAN, using a domain name. User name is xyz. There's a logging script and some DSN things that run at logon. I then have the Administrator ID to logon to my local machine.

The issue is that when I work offsite and I have to use the Admin user, I don't get my settings/documents as whem I'm logged on to the LAN with user xyz.

I've try creating the same xyz user on my loptop, however it created a NEW folder with xyz.MYDOMAIN and not use the existing xyz.

Hopefully this is clear enough.
Thanks for your anticipated help/suggestions.

IS there a way that I can setup my local xyz or Admin, to use some/all the setting for the office xyz user?

Try using a roaming profile. Matt Wray

Matt, setting a roaming profile on the server is my last option. I don't want to get the ADMIN involved.
But I'll keep that as my last resort. Tx.

I did the same process :
- creating the same xyz user on my loptop, with admin rights,
- it created a NEW folder with xyz.MYDOMAIN

I opened REGEDIT searching for ProfileList
looking in the different profiles and replacing the key
ProfileImagePath of (xyz.MYDOMAIN) by the one found for xyz
- then I deleted the c:\....\xyz.MYDOMAIN directory

May be a little bit risky but It works !
Hope this can help

;-)

Thanks, fixitplease. It worked, for now. I'll have to see how it behaves in the office now. Thanks again.
