Good day,
I have a problem where the Local Administrator on a Windows 2000 Professional SP4 machine has lost all of it's rights. I logged in as the domain admin and tried to remove/re-add the local admin to the group, but alas, you cannot do this to a built-in user :(

Any have a suggestion?

Thank you in advance!

Rogie

Depending on how much time you wish to spend on the problem, a quick solution would be to create a new local administrator account, then disable the old one.

Can you explain a bit more - what does 'lost all of it rights' mean? What policies are in force on the domain? If you create another local admin account - does that act in the same way as built in Administrator?
