Is there a way to provide a user with local admin rights on one server?

Keeping in mind that DCs don't have that group.

They do? What makes you say that it hasn't?

if they are dc's then there is no real way of doing it.

you can go down the route of moving the dc's out of the default domain controllers policy but - you will get some real strange bits

i beleive this is to be rectified in the next edition
