I have Dell PC which has Windows 2000 pro with SPK3 installed on it and it receives it's IP from DHCP.
When the pc logo's on it accepts user password, but then it tries to load personnel setting and it just hangs and does nothing. If you logon as local admin , then there is no problem. I have checked the newtork cables and also changed connection on the switch as well, but no joy.

Assuming you're loading a roaming progile from a domain?

If your my documents and desktop have alot of content. It's transfering ALL that data from the server to the local computer.

Just a thought, how about creating a new profile, does it have problems?

how long did you wait?

was the hard drive working?

I lay claim to nothing and everything. My words may be wisdom or disaster. In the end you make a choice. Noone is perfect.
