What are the advantages of loading Novell client 4.90 onto a Win 2000 Professional workstation as opposed to having just a Novell NetWare OS???

BigA, I'm struggling to understand exactly what you are trying to do.

The advantage of having the Novell client is that it allows you to access a Novell server (A dedicated platform)and have all the functionality of the server and eDirectory. This is different than MS servers, which are generally glorified workstations.

It would make no sense at all to install the Novell client on your W2K system if you don't have a Novell server out there somewhere to connect to.
