Mivoice business 8 + 2x border gateways
In the new situation, we will have 2 sip trunks, each connected to one BG.
Incoming is loadbalanced.
Outgoing: It looks like that a route should be programmed to one of the 2.

Can I load balance by 'rule'?
E.g. local numbers to trunk 1, the rest to trunk 2? And vice versa if the trunk is busy/out of service?

any particular reason for the load balancing ?

we normally just use 1 as primary and 2nd as overflow
incoming we dont care , outgoing it uses all the 1st choice until its busy then the second choice kicks in

having said that you should be able to route calls to particular trunks by using different routes and route lists
eg for
local calls starting with 2 8 digits long with access code 0
mobile calls starting with 04 10 digits long with access code 0

ars digits dialled
02+7 list 4
004+8 list 3

ars route assignment
rt 10 SIP trunk 1 cor 4 dm 1
rt 11 SIP trunk 2 cor 4 dm 1

ars list 4
1st choice rt 10
2nd choice rt 11

ars list 3
1st choice rt 11
2nd choice rt 10

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Thanks Billz66,

That's the way I was thinking about!

The thing is that I trust SIP less then a couple of good old PRI's😀

I think (and hope) this is a simple way knowing both trunks are working.
I never know if the 2nd one is 100% working because it normally never kicks in.
You can test it on a yearly basis, but as all ways: it never works if you need it;-)
